Staff Spotlight Sherrill Stockwell - 1st Grade Teacher Favorite Quote: “To each his own.” Years in Education: I have taught 1st graders for 26 years. What are some of your hobbies?: I like riding my bike with my son, Sullivan. I recently learned that I enjoy painting with acrylic paints (mostly nature scenes) and I love to read. Favorite Movie: Any movie with Patrick Swayze Favorite Book: Any book by Stephen King or Nicholas Sparks If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would love to go to Alaska in the winter to see the Northern Lights. I also want to go to Maine to see if the Maine accent is really the way that Stephen King describes it in his books. What are you most excited about for the school year? I am excited about watching all my new first graders bloom this year as we learn all kinds of new and exciting things! Favorite thing about Magnolia Schools: I love how I have my personal family, my East Side family and my Magnolia Public School family. I love them all. Something that might surprise us about you: We have been a foster family for dogs for the past 8 months and we love each and every puppy/dog we meet! Community involvement: Supporter of CCAPS (Columbia County Animal Protection Society) and OCAPS (Ouachita Animal Protection Society).
