MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT HOSTS BACK-TO-SCHOOL VACCINATION CLINIC
The Magnolia School District will host a Back-To-School COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Wednesday, July 28. The clinic will be held in Panther Arena and start at 2:00 PM. During this clinic, the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered. A follow-up clinic for the second dose of the vaccine will be held in approximately three to four weeks.
This clinic is for District students (age 12 and older) and District staff members. Parents who want their students (age 12 and older) to receive the vaccine and staff members who want the vaccine should phone the District Administration building at 234-4933 and give their name, student's name and age, and phone number.
Immunization forms must be completed prior to receiving the vaccine. Forms can be picked up at the front desk of the District Administration Building across the street from Magnolia High School.
STUDENTS (AGE 12 AND OLDER) AND STAFF MEMBERS WHO ARE FULLY VACCINATED (TWO WEEKS FOLLOWING THEIR SECOND DOSE) WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO QUARANTINE IF THEY SHOULD HAPPEN TO BE EXPOSED TO A POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE.

ALL incoming 7th through 12 graders must have a current 2021-2022 physical on file with the school in order to participate in sports.

MAGNOLIA HIGH SCHOOL PLANS BACK TO SCHOOL EVENTS
Magnolia High School will hold a ninth-grade and new student Parent Night on Monday, August 2, 2021. The event will start at 6:00 pm in Panther Café. A meal will be provided.
MHS students will be able to pick up 2022 class schedules and tour the campus on the following schedule:
Seniors – Tuesday, August 3 – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Juniors – Wednesday, August 4 – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Sophomores/Freshmen – Friday, August 6 – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm


SNIDER RECEIVES SOUTHARK SOFTBALL SCHOLARSHIP
Magnolia High School 2021 graduate, Jade Snider, recently signed a letter-of-intent from South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado to play softball for the Southark Stars. She will begin her career with the Stars during the 2022 academic year.
During her career with the MHS Lady Panthers, Jade played the infield and catcher positions. This year she had a .270 batting average and a .553 on base percentage. Jade hit six RBI’s, scored eighteen runs and had one home run. She also drew fifteen bases-on-balls and had eighteen hit-by-pitches.
Jade also earned All-Conference honors during years 2019 and 2021.


MHS Lady Panthers Basketball Summer Workout Schedule


Congratulations to English teacher Connie Hinton, the recipient of the Dr. John H. Moore "PACE" Award. PACE stands for Passion, Attitude, Courage, and Excellence. Thank you, Ms. Hinton, for being an outstanding teacher!


MHS is going to miss Anita Moore and Bonnie Wood, this year's retirees. At our end of year lunch, we also recognized last year's retirees, Rose Biley and Kaye Minter. Thank you for all you have done for your students over the years and the positive impact you have had on our campus!




The scores are in! All 29 did amazing! Let’s hear it for the 17 dancers who will make up our Magnolia High School Redline Dance Team!

Graduating Seniors who have an ACT composite score of 19 or higher, should make certain to apply for the Academic Challenge Scholarship, valued at $14,000 for a 4-year college; $4,000 for a 2-year college. The website is https://scholarships.adhe.edu.


MHS students, if you were not at school Wednesday or Thursday to select a free book for summer reading, it’s not too late! Stop by the library today or next week to choose a book. If you read it this summer and complete 4 reader responses that demonstrate your original work with evidence that you read the book, you will get to go on a field trip to a movie in El Dorado next fall. (9th graders will get theirs next week.)





BERRY SIGNS WITH SAU TRACK PROGRAM
Magnolia High School senior, Tylaa Berry, recently signed a letter of intent with Southern Arkansas University to run track for the Lady Mulerider track team next school year. During her high school career, Tylaa helped lead the Lady Panthers to one State Runner-up and two Conference Championships and had numerous AAU track accomplishments. As a sprinter, Tylaa participated in the 100 Meter, 200 Meter, 4 x 100 Meter Relay, and the 4 x 200 Meter Relay. She also earned over 160 individual points and over 125 relay points for the Lady Panthers.


Help us cheer on the seniors on their final walk of campus! Join us on the sidewalk in front of the school about 10:00 this morning to cheer for our seniors as they walk to the arena for graduation practice.

This evening at 6:30 at the Panther Arena, the High School Band will be hosting its Spring Concert. You will hear the 9 o'clock Jazz Band playing songs such as 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago and House of the Rising Sun by The Animals. After that, the MHS Concert Band, under the direction of Ms. Nina Martinez, will present their concert. Finally, the MHS Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mr. Chris Sanders will perform. There will be a presentation of awards to the students in each band this evening. We hope to see you all there!
We do ask that masks be worn while inside Panther Arena. Please also observe family-family social distancing guidance as well.

Your MHS Panther Baseball is going to the State Championship! We will be playing Valley View @ 1:00pm at Benton High School.
