Magnolia Middle School “Beating the Odds” with Outstanding Student Growth
Magnolia, Arkansas — Magnolia School District is proud to announce that Magnolia Middle School has earned four awards from the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas, recognizing outstanding student academic growth on the Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System (ATLAS).
Magnolia Middle School was recognized for:
High ELA Growth – Southwest Region
High Science Growth – Southwest Region
Beating the Odds: High ELA Growth – Southwest Region
Beating the Odds: High Science Growth – Southwest Region
These recognitions are especially meaningful because they focus on student growth — measuring how much students have progressed academically compared with students across Arkansas who demonstrated similar prior achievement.
The Beating the Odds awards further recognize high-growth schools serving student populations in which at least 66 percent qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The recognition highlights schools whose students demonstrate exceptional academic growth despite challenges that can sometimes create barriers to educational success.
For Magnolia Middle School, earning awards in both English Language Arts and Science reflects the collective effort taking place throughout the campus.
This recognition is about growth, and that is something worth celebrating, and our students are working hard every day, and our teachers and staff continue to meet them where they are, challenge them, and help them take that next step. These awards belong to our entire MMS family — our students, faculty, staff, families, and everyone who supports our school.
The four awards also reflect Magnolia School District’s commitment to ensuring that every student has opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. While achievement provides an important snapshot of where students are academically, growth demonstrates the progress students make along the way.
