Meet Bailey Marshall, a 6th grader at Magnolia Middle School who’s discovering the power of music—and the difference it can make!
Just like every student when school begins, Bailey was adjusting to new routines and expectations at MMS. Thanks to the support of his teachers, he soon discovered a spark that motivated him to give his best every day.
From the moment Bailey received his baritone in the MMS beginner band and started playing his first notes, his attitude and effort in all his classes improved. His teacher, Mrs. Foster, has noticed that Bailey is now more enthusiastic, attentive, and actively participating every day.
Because of his passion for music, Bailey has grown into a stronger student—and an inspiration to those around him. 🎶
We can’t wait to see Bailey continue to shine, both in the classroom and on the stage! 💫

Panther Cross Country Team Shows Exceptional Character and Support in DeQueen Meet
Magnolia, AR — At the Leopard Invitational in De Queen, AR, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, one Panther runner faced an unexpected setback when he twisted his knee during the race. While the injury affected his performance, what stood out most was the incredible display of teamwork, compassion, and Panther spirit shown by his fellow athletes.
As the runner worked to make it back to the tent, his teammates immediately rallied to his side. Several athletes, along with the runners' parent, helped him walk, while others provided encouragement and support every step of the way. Head coach of Panther Cross Country, Ryan Franks, quickly contacted Magnolia Panther Athletic Trainer John Caston, who guided teammates Presley Hanson and Dejuan Dismuke, who are in the Magnolia School District’s Athletic Training program, on wrapping his knee to prevent future injuries.
In addition to their physical support, the team showed heartfelt admiration for their teammate’s perseverance and determination to finish the race despite his injury. Their collective encouragement, quick action, and unwavering care exemplify what it means to be a Panther.
“This team is so amazing,” the athlete's mom said. “Their capacity to rally around one another in times of need is a hallmark of their exceptional character. As a team parent, I am deeply grateful to have witnessed this team’s growth and development over the years and eagerly look forward to their future achievements.”
The Magnolia School District celebrates the Panther Cross Country team not only for their athletic performance, but also for the outstanding sportsmanship, empathy, and unity they continue to display.

This week 7th grade students became detectives as we investigated the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. They were highly engaged as they explored different theories, examined primary and secondary sources, gathered evidence from videos and readings, and then wrote about what they personally believe happened to the colony. While the true answer remains a mystery, their excitement, creativity, and thoughtful reasoning made for a fun and memorable week of learning!
