APRIL IS THE MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD!!!

MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT CELEBRATES APRIL AS THE MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD

We are prepared for our students to ATTACK the ATLAS!

6th grade students explored the world of thermal energy transfer during Mrs. Reed and Mrs. White's ATLAS attack rotation by using a variety of methods to make popcorn! After making their popcorn they had to identify which type of energy transfer was used and they created models to show their findings to the rest of the class.

All MMS students will be participating in an ATLAS Attack day tomorrow and several days next week. During this time, students will be attending extended review sessions to review essential skills in English Language Arts, Math, and Science in order to prepare for the ATLAS test later this month.
Students will be reviewing ELA skills such as point of view, author's purpose, citing evidence, writing summaries, and reading comprehension. Math skills that will be reviewed are one step inequalities, surface area & volume, equations, transformations, ratios, unit rates, and more. In science, students will review natural selection, waves, energy, force & motion, and Earth systems, as well as other grade specific skills.
We are excited to make the most of these last two weeks before state testing to ensure our students are ready to ATTACK THE ATLAS test!

We are excited about the student incentive for the month of April! Please see the criteria below to remain eligible.
